2012 Part 1

So 2012 was a whirlwind for us. We had a lot of changes this year, and that's why it took me so long to update my blog. Here's just a month by month summary of this year. I have more pictures to come as I am about 9 months behind. Jan-April: We decided that we were going to try and make the move to Montrose, so I started packing up the house and de-cluttering in order to get it on the market. Cajsa made a special trip to help fix up the kitchen. We re-painted not only the kitchen, but the living room as well. Mind you, I was doing this while I was 7-9 mos pregnant, and Aidrik still didn't want to come early. May: Aidrik was born. He was a week late and I still had to be induced. Josh fixed up everything around the house that needed to be fixed. He also re-modeled our upstairs bathroom and did a great job. We re-painted our deck, which looked awesome when it was done. See the pictures in posts below. June: Got the house up for sale, took a trip to Montrose. Got an offer on the house two weeks later and we were supposed to be out of the house 3 weeks after that. July: Officially quit my job at Bill Barrett Corporation. Cajsa and Maile came for a visit and then it was back to packing. Made the move from Denver to Montrose. It was very emotional for me because I had been living in Denver for 15 years and I didn't want to leave Shara and Nhatran. Also very different for me since I was no longer working, but that changed shortly after the move. August: Tahlia turned 2. Jakai started Kindergarten. Nhatran's baby shower for her first baby girl. September: Jakai turned 5. I headed back to Denver to work part-time contract for Bonanza Creek Energy. I am still currently working for them part-time contract. This is the best opportunity for me since Josh is still working on the house, and we needed to have some sort of income. Nhatran's baby was born on Sarah's birthday. Sarah, one of my dearest friends, committed suicide on Oct 15th, 2011. So this was pretty cool that she was born on Sarah's birthday. I will continue my month by month summary when I load more pictures.

Jakai's 5th Birthday

Jakai turned 5 in September. Once again, I didn't make a cake, so Shara bought one. Josh took Jakai out 4-wheeling, then he opened presents. Aunty Shara made a surprise visit from Denver and then we ended up going to Ouray to go swimming in the hot springs. It was a fun-filled day for Jakai. Maybe next year I'll actually throw him a birthday party. It depends on how motivated I get.

Back to Denver

We made a trip back to Denver so that I could throw a baby shower for my friend, Nhatran. Unfortunately I didn't get any picture of the shower, but I got a few of the kids. I forgot pajamas for Aidrik, so Shara had some baby stuff saved up, and the pink ones were the only pajamas that fit. It was hilarious. Tahlia loves spiderman, so that's what Aunty Shara got for her birthday, a spiderman shirt. Then a friend of ours, Allys, got the kids some presents for their birthdays (the masks). Jakai wore his most of the night.

Jakai's first day of school

Jakai turned 5 in September, so he barely made the cutoff to attend Kindergarten this year. I was thankful he did because I was ready for him to go and he was ready. He LOVES school and wishes he could go to school on Saturdays too. This was his first day of school. He had no problems. Neither one of us cried...we were both excited. He's done great so far this school year and is progressing so well. He's such a wonderful kid! He found a best friend his first day of school and they already have sleepovers (this may be a bad thing to start at age 5, but they have so much fun together).

Tahlia's 2nd Birthday

Tahlia turned 2 in August. I can't believe how fast she's growing. We didn't do anything too exciting (as always). I bought her an ice-cream cake at Cold Stone, we opened presents and then we took the kids to the swimming pool. They loved it, and we loved it. Tahlia loves shoes and wet wipes, so I think she got plenty of the two for her birthday. Although after I gave her a whole box of wet wipes, she stopped using them so much.

After the Move

We moved from Denver in July of 2012 and it was quite emotional for me, but the kids adjusted really well. We moved into a duplex that we are currently renting until the house is finished. This was before church I decided to take opportunity of the kids dressed up.

Lunch with Daddy at the house

Josh is building our house, so while we were visiting in Montrose, we decided to take lunch to him.

Montrose Random pics

We decided to go to Montrose for a week or so while we listed the house for sale, so we didn't have to worry about keeping the house clean. It was the best idea ever. Anyway, I finally had time to take pictures of the kids. My head-strong Tahlia

Aidrik's Blessing Day

Aidrik was given a blessing in church in June of 2012. I try to take pictures afterwards. One of these days we'll take a professional family picture. We have yet to do that since my kids have been born...yes, I'm pretty lame.

Putting the House on the Market

In 2012 we decided to move to Montrose so that we could actually live together as a family. These are a few pictures of what our house looked like when we put it on the market to sell. It sold in 2 weeks and we moved out in 5 weeks. We were very blessed that it sold so fast, but we also had an awesome realtor. I wish our house looked like this when we lived in it. We had to do some serious de-clutter!

Aidrik Rylan Pfifer

Aidrik (English - meaning "Blessed Ruler") was born on May 1st at 12:57 am weighing 7 lbs 13 oz and 21 inches long. He looks a lot like Jakai did. I had to be induced when I was 41 weeks because my amniotic fluid levels were so low. I finally decided to get the epidural, but it only worked on the left side. Anyway, we're so happy he's here (especially Jakai and Tahlia - they love their new brother)!

Tahlia - 18 months

I thought it was about time to take pictures of Tahlia since she is changing so much. I was able to make her sit long enough to french braid her hair for the first time. She also loves socks! She would always get in my drawer and get my M&M socks and put them on. Gotta love her outfit!
